Top Ten Tuesday: Fave books I've read during Take Me Away's Lifespan

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.
Each week we will feature a new Top Ten list. Everyone is welcome to join.
(This list is in no particular order...)

1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins- This book caught me by surprise. I usually only like contemporary romances that feature a "bad boy" with a girl who's the complete opposite, but I LOVED this one.

2. Half-Blood by Jennfer L. Armentrout- I was a little late to the party on this one. Although it was getting nothing but 5 star reviews, I was still like "Ehhhh" because I didn't like the cover too much.... But that's why they say, never judge a book by its cover. Because what's under the cover is AMAZING. This quickly became one of my favorite series.

3. Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan- This book definitely caught me by surprise. I was intrigued by the thought of the gods and goddess in modern day and Riordan did NOT disappoint.

4. If I Stay by Gayle Foreman- Man this book was amazing. I was shocked with the writing and just all of it. The "Play me like your cello." scene STILL is one of my favorite all time scenes.

5. Cinder by Marissa Meyer- I read this recently and I was AMAZED at how much I liked it. I was surprised because I had read so many reviews about cyborgs and all this other stuff, but in the end I read it and loved it. Now I'd do ANYTHING to get my hands on an ARC of the second book in the series.

6. Chain Reaction by Simone Elkeles- This was the third and final installment to the Perfect Chemistry series. I was in love with this series from the very beginning, but this one definitely was my favorite. I was actually fortunate enough to get my review read by the author and the publisher. It really made me feel like I mattered.

7. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins- The first time I tried to read this, I didn't like it. I admit, I hardly gave it a chance. I read up to like page 80 and I wanted to stop after that. So then I had a friend to read it and the movie was coming out, so I knew I had to give it a chance. I was told "Just get to the games" and I did. And from that point on, I loved the series.

8. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin- I absolutely LOVED this book. It was full of mystery and of course the incredible Noah Shaw.

9. Something Like Normal by Trish Doller- I LOVED this book. I told you all my favorite types of contemps feature a tortured boy with an opposite kind of girl. I was intrigued with this story from the beginning.

10. Soul Screamers: Volume One by Rachel Vincent- I had only heard of this series before but I hadn't read it. And everytime I had the chance to, I always made up an excuse as to why I couldn't read it. Finally, I just said forget it and got it at Barnes and Noble one day. And I'm so glad I did. I LOVED this story and I loved the fact that it was set in somewhere close to me that I knew well.
