Book Bangin: Dystopian Book Boyfriends

This feature shows up monthly on the last day of the month to feature our book boyfriends! Now if you know me, you KNOW I LOVE to flaunt all my bookish loves so this was the perfect meme for me!

This month we're celebrating our Dystopian Boyfriends!

Right now I look like I just stepped out my own Dystopian with  my messy hair and no make up and all, but there's not a chance that I would ever survive in one. Honestly, I know I would be the first one dead. That's the exact reason I love these two boys. They can obviously do what I can't and I admire them immensly for that. So without further ado, here are my two boys:

1. Four (or Tobias) from Divergent
2. Peeta Mellark (or the Boy with the Bread) from The Hunger Games

I haven't read that many dystopians so I only have those two! Give me some recommendations of some really swoony dystopians to help me ease into the genre a little more!

Q:If you could only have ONE – one book – for the rest of your life. Don’t cheat…what would it be?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter, #7)

A: How cliche, but I would pick Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!!! Just because I can read that a thousand times and never get tired of it. It was a perfect ending to a perfect series and seriously I loved it!

Swoon Thursday: New Adult Edition!

Swoon Thursday is a weekly event hosted by YA Bound.

Here's what you do:
From the book you're currently reading, or one you just finished, tell me what made you swoon. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering. Shout it out on twitter with the hashtag #YABound, post it here in the comments or grab the button above and share it on your blog.

"The press of his lips the second time consumed me, awakened me. His mouth was all I could think about, all I wanted to think about. A wonderful warmth slipped down my neck, spreading across my chest, and then lower, between my thighs. He kissed me gently, tracing the pattern of my lips with his own. Something deep inside me was rising, opening and aching. I clung to him as he shifted and I was suddenly on my back."

What made you SWOON this week?!

City of Bones: The movie!

I have seen so many mixed reviews of this movie it is unreal. I knew the boyfriend wouldn't want to go watch it with me, but he surprised me and said we could go for our three year anniversary so I wouldn't have to be by myself. (Isn't he the sweetest?!) I've been stalking Twitter to see if everyone liked it, and really you either really liked it or you really hated it. There was no in between.
So, after hearing so many mixed things, I finally got to make my own decision. And I liked it actually. I mean it wasn't 100% the book, but I kind of feel that it was close enough. It was good enough to where I didn't have to explain anything, my boyfriend wasn't confused at all. He just thought they had a cool way of drawing tattoos... (0_o They never did explain the steele....) But anyways, that was the only thing that really confused him. I was also a little iffy about Jace. He wasn't my number one pick, but he did really good. Simon was perfect and Clary did ok. And let me just tell you. MAGNUS BANE was everyrthing lol He's my favorite character in the book and the movie and he was only there for a short time lol
What I didn't like about the movie though was the way it told the story of what happens in later books. There were like three things they gave spoilers too! I wish someone had told me to go ahead and read book three (City of Glass) before going to see it, because I'm pretty sure one thing they said hasn't been figured out yet and trust me, its a HUGE spoiler. For a minute it made me think I didn't want to finish the series, but already being a fan girl its hard not to just finish it out. Plus I already have the rest of them sitting on my shelf lol
Last but not least, I hated the green house scene. And I know I'm not the first person to say it. It just wasn't at all what I pictured in my head. It was like too forceful. Like they were both supposed to go for it. I felt like Jace like grabbed her and didn't give her any choice. Ugh Idk I just didn't like it at all.
Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't a great one either. I think I'm the first person I've seen that actually is on the fence about it. It's funny, but this is the same rating I gave the book. I wasn't a huge super fan, but I didn't just hate it either.
Overall, I give this

Waiting on Wednesday: 8/28/13

This bookish meme tells the blogosphere what we're waiting patiently (and sometimes not so patiently) for! It's hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine!

Side Effects May Vary

What if you’d been living your life as if you were dying—only to find out that you had your whole future ahead of you?
When sixteen-year-old Alice is diagnosed with leukemia, her prognosis is grim. To maximize the time she does have, she vows to spend her final months righting wrongs—however she sees fit. She convinces her friend Harvey, whom she knows has always had feelings for her, to help her with a crazy bucket list that’s as much about revenge (humiliating her ex-boyfriend and getting back at her arch nemesis) as it is about hope (doing something unexpectedly kind for a stranger and reliving some childhood memories). But just when Alice’s scores are settled, she goes into remission.
Now Alice is forced to face the consequences of all that she’s said and done, as well as her true feelings for Harvey. But has she done irreparable damage to the people around her, and to the one person who matters most?
Julie Murphy’s SIDE EFFECTS MAY VARY is a fearless and moving tour de force about love, life, and facing your own mortality.

Expected Publication: March 14, 2014
Published by:  Balzer + Bray

Why I'm Waiting: I know you all can tell by all my recent reviews that I've been on a "contemp with a bigger issue" kick for the longest. And this one is just ASKING to feed my addiction. Plus, I've already started thinking about what I want to put on my bucket list and I haven't even started reading this one yet! Plus, I love the cover. It was one of the reasons I added it to my TBR pile lol

6. Matty from How My Summer Went Up in Flames: He was so funny and although everyone else let Rosie get away with everything, Matty was the only one that could keep her in line!

7. Dan from The Summer I Became a Nerd: Dan was one of the best friends ever! He would not let Maddie hurt Logan no matter how much he liked her. I was happy Logan had someone so loyal.

8. Max from My Life After Now: He was hilarious. I would be his bff in a heartbeat!

9. Isaiah in Pushing the Limits: Guys, this is when I fell in love with him. Before we even knew he had a story. I wanted him to end up with Beth, but then when her story came out, I just wanted him to be happy. I'm so glad he finally gets to be happy! (Look out for his story finally, Crash Into You, coming in November!)

10. Colby from The Dead and Buried: I know I wasn't the only one who was creeped out by what happened to him. He was just a little boy! But he was super cute when a ghost wasn't messing with him.
