Hollywood history, mystery, murder, mayhem, and delicious romance collide in this unputdownable thriller from master storyteller Katie Alender.
Willa is freaking out. It seems like she's seeing things. Like a dead body in her swimming pool. Frantic messages on her walls. A reflection that is not her own. It's almost as if someone -- or something -- is trying to send her a message.
Meanwhile, a killer is stalking Los Angeles -- a killer who reenacts famous movie murder scenes. Could Willa's strange visions have to do with these unsolved murders? Or is she going crazy? And who can she confide in? There's Marnie, her new friend who may not be totally trustworthy. And there's Reed, who's ridiculously handsome and seems to get Willa. There's also Wyatt, who's super smart but unhealthily obsessed with the Hollywood Killer.
All Willa knows is, she has to confront the possible-ghost in her house, or she just might lose her mind . . . or her life.
Acclaimed author Katie Alender puts an unforgettable twist on this spine-chilling tale of murder, mystery, mayhem -- and the movies.

After reading the synopsis I was sure I would like this one. A mean a killer who's recreating famous death scenes in movies?! Sounds interesting right? I thought so too.... Until I read it.
I didn't get very far in this one because I was annoyed with the main character. She seemed ungrateful and was acting very rude to her step dad. And her sarcastic nature. Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE sarcasm, but sometimes it's just too much. And I really didn't like the way she was putting her self away from everyone and then constantly complaining that she was alone. I'd be alone too if I distances everyone from me on purpose.
I did like the mystery part of the book though. It made me second and third guess myself, but I still wasn't able to pick who had done it. I had a pretty good idea, but then things changed again. But it wasn't for the best. The paranormal part of the book had it the plot going all over the place. I just felt like that was a little too much extra going on and it didn't really need to be there.
In short, this one just wasn''t for me. I made it to about page 130 before I started skimming. It wasn't anything that I desperately needed in my life. I could've done without it. Don't get me wrong, others may enjoy it, but i just couldn't get past the writing and the characters.
Overall, I give this

  1. Sad you didn't like it! I agree that the synopsis sounds pretty awesome, but I guess sometimes the execution just isn't done well!
