Bout of Books 14!

Bout of Books
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 17th and runs through Sunday, August 23rd in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 14 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.

Today starts the Bout of Books Read-a-thon and I really want to do this one since it runs on the last week before school starts! I'm a little late to the party since I just found out about it, but I definitely plan to participate! You can still sign-up, so go forth and do it here! Now I will be around for the mini challenges, but I won't be able to participate in the Twitter Chats. I work nights a lot so I'm more than likely going to be unavailable during those times. I will definitely go in and answer the questions afterwards tho!

Mini Challenges:

8/17/15: Fictional World Travel (Found on Instagram!) 3-6 books set in a country other than the one I live in! Since my blog is called Take me Away, I LOVE this challenge! This is the reason I decided to do this read-a-thon! I needed to do this challenge lol

Books I chose:
The Wrath and the Dawn by Ahdieh (Middle East)
The Beautiful and the Cursed by Page Morgan (France)
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer (France)

8/18/15: Book Scavenger Hunt:
1. A book that begins with "B": Broken Hearts, Fences, and Other Things to Mend by Katie Finn
2. A book you've planned to read/Currently Reading for Bout of Books: Court of Fives by Kate Elliott
3. Blue Books: House Arrest by K.A. Holt and The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
4. Books from my Favorite Genre which is Dark YA Contemp: I'll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios and Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen
5. A book on my TBR shelf: Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (You have no idea how hard I'm trying not to forgo my reading schedule and read this one now!!!)

8/19/15:MASH (Done on 8/23 Due to Work! Missed them, but still wanted to do it!):

I'll live in an apartment with Chaol, our car would be a Firebolt, we'll live in Atlanta, GA I'll be an actress, we'll have no kids and our pet will be Festus! (From the Lost Hero by Rick Riordan)

8/20/15: 4 Seasons on a book cover!: (Done on 8/23/15 due to work!)

Winter: Between the Spark and Burn by April Genevieve Tucholke
Spring: Splintered by A.G. Howard
Summer: Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson
Fall: The Cemetery Boys by Heather Brewer

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)   Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #2)
8/21/15: Character Soulmates (Done on 8/23/15 due to work!)

Characters: Celaena and Wolf
Ship Name: Wollaena
Reason: They are both KICKASS characters, but they balance each other out. Wolf is kickass and so super sweet. Celaena is just kick ass. I think Wolf can deal with her bad ass ness and not try to make her who he wants her to be.

8/22/15: Road Trip! (Done on 8/23/15 due to work!)

Since the name of my blog is Take Me Away, this challenge was fairly easy for me! Here are my picks!
1. The Chapel Wars by Lindsey Leavitt I mean, it's Vegas, Nevada... Also, I'd love to see the sign place they went on their date!
2. Cress by Marissa Meyer: I'd love to visit the Moon and the Sahara Desert!
3. Last Year's Mistake by Gina Ciocca: Really I just want to go to Rhode Island to see how the beaches there look!)
4. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh: I'd love to visit the Middle East to see how things are there. I've never left the US, so anywhere other than here is interesting!
5. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green: I'd KILL to visit Amsterdam!

8/23/15: What to Read Next!
What You Left Behind by Jessica VerdiDumplin' by Julie MurphyDamage Done by Amanda Panitch

1. What You Left Behind by Jessica Verdi is a look at a teen boy who is on his own with a kid. While it's unique, it gave a real life look on how teens with babies are in this day and age. But be warned, this book is PACKED with feels!

2. Dumplin by Julie Murphy is a book that glorifys all types of people! I love the diversity of it and the way it tells everyone that they matter no matter what they look like. This book teaches confidence and has real life emotions.

3. Damage Done by Amanda Panitch is a complete and total mind eff. Everything you think you know, trust me, you don't. This is one of the best thrillers I've read in a long time. I'd definitely recommend this one to anyone that loves thrillers because this one will have you guessing until the VERY LAST PAGE.
