Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people.
Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.
With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas's masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.

*MY THOUGHTS*

I've been waiting more than  a year for this book after having the pleasure to read and review an ARC of A Court of Thorns and Roses. And let me tell you, this book was definitely worth the wait! I loved mostly everything about this book, besides a couple hiccups, but I can already see myself reading this over and over again.
"I forced my gaze up, to [...], his shoulders back, head high. So unware of the true extent of how broken and dark I was inside."
pg. 41
Feyre is all set to marry Tamlin and they're both more than happy. Until one day Rhysand comes to collect on his promise to take her to the Night Court for a week once a month. While there she is introduced to a dark evil and finds out more about herself than she ever knew.
"Males are horrible creatures aren't they?"
pg. 174
First of all, I wanna talk about this cover. Because OMG I am in LOVE. I know a lot of people weren't impressed, but I love it. I'm not sure if it's because that royal blue is gorgeous or if I fell for her amazing Night Court tattoo, but whatever the case may be, I love this cover and actually it's my favorite of the series.
"There are good days and hard days for me- even now. Don't let the hard days win."
pg. 239
As for the story, I just have to point out that Sarah J. Maas has a gift. Her storytelling skills are on point. BUT her pacing is sort of off. I thought this book was extremely long and probably could've been a bit shorter. Even looking at my tabs there was a point where I didn't add any for a couple pages. I just think some fluff could've been taken out. Buttttt again, the way she wrote it kept me involved and I still loved it overall.
"There are different kinds of darkness. [...] There is the darkness that frightens, the darkness that soothes, the darkness that is restful. There is the darkness of lovers, and the darkness of assassins. [...] It is not wholly good or bad."
pg. 300
I also loved Feyre even more in this one. There's so much growth and understanding and just EVERYTHING about her was amazing. She was so bad ass and she reminded me alot of Celeana and all that I used to love about her. I was a little upset by what she chose, but as things came to light, I began to understand. And the fact that she recognized it awhile ago made it even better.
"...the villain is usually the person who locks p the maiden and throws away the key."
pg. 427
But my favorite part of this entire story was the new lands and the new characters that were introduced. I loved seeing the Summer Court and meeting those there as well as seeing more of the Night Court. Then meeting the new characters was great as well. I loved Mor and can't wait to see what else she brings to the table. I can't really say more without spoiling anything, but just know, those characters are so important and mean so much. I can't wait to see what else happens with them.
"Everything has it's cost, Feyre."
pg. 469
With the romance, I'm ashamed to admit I loved it. Yes I was part of a different team, but in light of a couple things, I found my way not on a different team, but just "enjoying" a different ship more. With that being said, I would NOT give this book to any younger YA readers. As a librarian, I would definitely tell any parents that there is a bit more hot and steamy in this one. Starting with Chapter 2 lol And trust me, it does not stop there. Chapter 55 is a DOOZIE lol and I admit I had to read Chapter 54 and 55 twice lmao
"Lest you forget where this is going to end"
pg. 530
As far as the ending, I really think Maas is trying to give us a heart attack. I just KNEW I would be broken with Chapter 68. I had tissues and everything all ready to go. And then the bomb dropped and I was left with a mouth that was hanging open. I can't even tell you how I didn't see that coming at all. But now it's made the wait for the next book WAY HARDER. I can't even explain to you how hard I was hanging on to my book! It definitely stressed me out, but for once, it was one I welcomed.
"Love- love was a balm as much as it was a poison."
pg. 622
I'm normally not a fan of second books in a series, but this one passes the test. I loved seeing more lands and meeting more characters, and seeing how things ended up. I've never been a fan of fairies, but anytime that Maas is involved, you can count on me reading it. The wait for Book 3 will be TORTURE and I'm not prepared for it.
Overall, I give this
