Challenges of 2014!

This year was really weird... I challenged myself to only about 90 books but I only made it to about 86 and not many of them were new releases. But I ALMOST beat something that I've been trying to beat for a while.... I opened myself up to other genres. So, I went to read some genres that I'm not a huge fan of or that I'm not really familiar with! So, here's the ones I beat and the one I didn't :(

I challenged myself to read two historical fiction, two fantasy, and two dystopian books. I ended up reading three fantasy (ones that included swords and the whole nine), two dystopian (if the Selection series counts), and unfortunately I didn't really read any historical fiction. I read  Illusions of Fate by Kiersten White, but since it featured some paranormal happenings, I wasn't sure if I wanted to count that one. I was thinking more along the lines of books like Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein. Here's my results:

Fantasy

a. The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutoski
b. The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutoski
c. Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins
d. Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
e. Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas (I'm currently reading this one.)

Dystopian

a. The Elite by Kiera Cass
b. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Historical Fiction

a. Illusions of Fate by Kiersten White

So here's what I read this year from these categories! Does anyone else have any other reccomendations for me? I've been reading non-stop contemps and although I love them, it's time to expand my horizons!

What genres should I shoot for next year?
Should I shoot for more of each genre?
What are some of your favorites of  these genres that I absolutely need to make time for in 2015?

I also saw that EpicReads had a super cool idea of reading across the United States. I mean it went hand in hand with what my blog was named, so it made sense. So, here are the states I "made it" to! (I didn't realize how many stories were set in the same spot until I started doing this!) Since I started doing this after half the year was over, I'm going to do keep going with this one after the year has started! Here's what I have so far!:

This is another one where I started with 10 and read 7 within the first couple months of 2014! Towards the second half when school started tho I was basically getting started with school so I wasn't really looking for debuts, I was more looking for anything that had an audiobook out at the library lol So that's why I'm one short now!

What debuts did you read this year?
Any that I just HAVE to read for next year?

So. here's how I did overall! What challenges did you do? Any that I should look for next year?
