At first I wasn't going to review this, but when I realized I had reviewed the rest of the series, I realized I had to. This wasn't my favorite novella from this series, but I still did enjoy it and I can't wait until my hold for A Prince on Paper comes in because I can't wait after reading this!
Regina Hobbs is a nerd.... There's no denying it. She spends her days (and nights) working on her website, Girls With Glasses. Which is what put her in this situation.... She spent her time working and could hardly get any sleep. So she enlists the help of Gustave Nguyen. She uses him and his voice to put her to sleep. Well at first.... It suddenly develops into something else faster than either of them can blink.
The number one thing I liked about this one was the characters obviously. Regina most definitely reminded me of me and I can't believe how alike we were. From being nerds, to wearing glasses, to having a website, to being a nerd in all the things, she was me. And then there was Gus. He was the sweetest he knew how to be and I loved that about him.Throughout the entire book he never tried to be more than he was. And he never tried to hide anything about him self either. This is what made the two of them such a good match in my eyes. And I can't talk about this book without giving a nod to representation. This book gives representation to so many people that don't have much representation. Especially in books. I have to
The only reason I didn't give this one 5 stars was the plot. I don't feel like much happened besides them meeting and kissing. I know it was a novella, but even in Once Ghosted there was more happening and I didn't feel like I could have waited. But it definitely made me even more excited for the next book in this series.
This book was quite a surprise. I knew I would like it because, I mean Alyssa Cole, but I didn't know how much. This was a really good book filled with realistic characters, great representation, and a really cute romance. I need my hold to come in for A Prince on Paper ASAP!
